| Hill Country Veterans Council Meeting Tuesday HCVC meetings up to date: We are ecstatic to welcome back our Web Master, Gael, after her long extended serious illness. We continue to hope and pray for full and total recovery. 1. Mr. Jeff Milligan, Director of South Texas Veterans Health Care System, briefed us on progress being made on projects to improve the STVHCS. The new additions to Audie are progressing as is the new facilities for the valley. Specifically, reorganization and location of specialty clinics are being accomplished as more space becomes available. Audie has received renewal of accreditation for three years. The STVHCS performance dashboard shows continued improvement, with only 5 ratings not up to targets. (See chart) 2. Mrs. Gutierrez, Kerrville V. A., briefed us on progress of programs at Kerrville. The contract to replace elevator equipment is out for bids. Rehab of Podiatry and GI clinics started in December, are on schedule. The nursing home is 70% complete for 106 patients. 3. STVHCS’ budget is over $34 million for Fy ’09 and included a 3% raise for personal . 4. The V. A. Health Care System is actively recruiting veterans to sign up since many of the rules have changed.
